Trip Purpose:

2027 Oceania Clean Water Climb - New Zealand

Join us for an unforgettable adventure in the breathtaking landscapes of New Zealand! The 2027 Oceania Clean Water Climb combines the world-renowned Milford and Routeburn Tracks into an 8-day, 7-night journey through rugged mountains, lush rainforests, and stunning fjords. Over 62 miles of hiking and 6,500 feet of elevation gain, you’ll experience the pristine beauty of Oceania while supporting clean water initiatives. Limited to just 12 participants, this intimate trek offers a perfect blend of challenge, camaraderie, and natural wonder.

Itinerary:

The Classic Itinerary (Milford & Routeburn Tracks)

  • Day 1 – February 18, 2027: Arrive in Queenstown

  • Day 2 – February 19, 2027: Orientation Meeting

  • Day 3 – February 20, 2027: Queenstown to Glade House (2 miles, 200 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at Glade House

  • Day 4 – February 21, 2027: Glade House to Pompolona Lodge (10 miles, 1,000 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at Pompolona Lodge

  • Day 5 – February 22, 2027: Pompolona Lodge to Quinton Lodge (15 miles, 3,000 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at Quinton Lodge

  • Day 6 – February 23, 2027: Quinton Lodge to Mitre Peak Lodge (14 miles, 800 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at Mitre Peak Lodge at Milford Sound

  • Day 7 – February 24, 2027: Milford Sound to Te Anau – Overnight at Te Anau Hotel

  • Day 8 – February 25, 2027: Te Anau to Mackenzie Lodge (8 miles, 1,000 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at Mackenzie Lodge

  • Day 9 – February 26, 2027: Mackenzie Lodge to Routeburn Falls Lodge (7 miles, 1,500 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at Routeburn Falls Lodge

  • Day 10 – February 27, 2027: Routeburn Falls Lodge to Queenstown (6 miles, 1,000 ft elevation gain) – Overnight at hotel in Queenstown

  • Day 11 – February 28, 2027: Depart Queenstown

Cost:

  • Shared Room (4-person single beds at lodges, double hotel rooms): $3,300

  • Private Room (Queen beds at lodges): $4,650

  • Private Room for Couples (Queen beds at lodges): $4,200

A $200 deposit is due by January 1, 2026, to secure your spot.

Space is limited to 12 participants, so reserve early!

Gear:

Prepare for New Zealand’s diverse terrain and weather with the following essentials:

  • 40+ Liter Backpack: You’ll carry all personal gear; washing/drying facilities available at lodges.

  • Waterproof Hiking Boots or Shoes: Broken-in with ankle support; must be clean for New Zealand customs.

  • Waterproof Jacket & Pants: Expect an 80% chance of rain on the Milford Track’s rainforest sections.

  • Fleece Jacket: For cool mornings and evenings.

  • 3 Pairs of Hiking Socks

  • 3 Pairs of Dry-Wick Underwear

  • Short & Long-Sleeve Dry-Wick Shirts

  • Short & Long Pants: No cotton.

  • Sunhat & Fleece Hat

  • Light or Medium-Weight Gloves: Passes can be cold and windy.

  • 1-Liter Water Bottle or Bladder: Pure water is available along the trail—no purification needed.

  • Sunscreen, Insect Repellant, Toiletries, First Aid Kit: Sand fleas can be an issue in some areas.

  • Trekking Poles: Optional; can be rented.
