Trip Purpose:

This trip is part of the Sixth Annual South American Clean Water Climb, with participants trekking through Argentina’s Patagonia and raising funds for clean water projects.

Itinerary:

  • January 10: Depart Houston for Buenos Aires, Argentina.

  • January 11: Fly from Buenos Aires to El Calafate.

  • January 12: Arrival and briefing in El Chaltén, Patagonia.

  • January 13: Trek to Laguna de los Tres (7 miles), 7-hour hike with stunning views of Mt. FitzRoy.

  • January 14: Trek to Maestri Viewpoint (5 miles) with views of Cerro Torre.

  • January 15: Trek to Agachonas Pass (8.1 miles), crossing rivers using the Tyrolean Traverse.

  • January 16: Trek to Viento Pass (10 miles) with views of the Viedma Glacier.

  • January 17: Trek to Huemul Pass (11.2 miles), a challenging descent using fixed ropes.

  • January 18: Trek to Bahia Tunel (9.3 miles), then transfer to El Calafate.

  • January 19: 3-hour ice hike on the Perito Moreno Glacier.

  • January 20: Return flights to Buenos Aires and Houston.

Cost:

$3,455 per person, excluding airfare. Deposit of $865 due by May 1, 2024. Final payment of $2,590 due by October 18, 2024.

Included:

·       Tents, sleeping bags, food setup at each campsite.

·       Transfers, park entrances, and accommodations in El Chaltén and El Calafate.

·       Maximum 12 participants.

Significance:

This trek provides an adventurous and scenic experience through Patagonia, including river crossings, glacier hiking, and breathtaking views of iconic peaks like Mt. FitzRoy and Cerro Torre. The trip also serves a higher purpose by supporting clean water initiatives in developing regions.
