Trip Purpose:

7th Annual South American Clean Water Climb.

Join us as we summit five incredible volcanoes in Ecuador’s Andes region, including some of the most breathtaking and technically challenging peaks on Earth.

Itinerary:

  • Mt. Pasochoa (13,779’)

  • Mt. Pichincha (15,728’)

  • Mt. Cayambe (18,996’) – the highest point on the equator

  • Mt. Cotopaxi (19,347’) – the highest active volcano in the world

  • Mt. Chimborazo (20,548’) – the closest point to the sun

  • Day 1 (Jan 8): Depart USA → Flight to Quito

  • Day 2 (Jan 9): Arrive in Quito → Transfer to hotel

  • Day 3 (Jan 10): Quito city tour → Explore cultural sites

  • Day 4 (Jan 11): Hike Mt. Pasochoa (13,800’) → Acclimatization

  • Day 5 (Jan 12): Hike Mt. Pichincha (15,600’) → High-altitude prep

  • Day 6 (Jan 13): Drive to Cayambe → Glacier training at Cayambe Refuge

  • Day 7 (Jan 14): Summit Mt. Cayambe (18,996’) → Drive to Otavalo

  • Day 8 (Jan 15): Visit Otavalo market → Travel to Cotopaxi region

    Optional: Short trip return after Cayambe

  • Day 9 (Jan 16): Hike to Cotopaxi Refuge (15,400’) → Overnight at refuge

  • Day 10 (Jan 17): Summit Mt. Cotopaxi (19,347’) → Drive to Banos

  • Day 11 (Jan 18): Rest day in Banos → Explore hot springs and shops

  • Day 12 (Jan 19): Drive to Chimborazo → Hike to high camp (17,384’)

  • Day 13 (Jan 20): Summit Mt. Chimborazo (20,548’) → Return to Quito

  • Day 14 (Jan 21): Depart Quito → Return flight to the USA

Cost:

$2,500 per person, excluding airfare. Deposit of $750 due by September 1, 2025.

Group Size: Minimum 4 people, maximum 12

Gear:

• Double-layer mountaineering boots

• Crampons, ice axe, helmet

• Technical clothing for cold and wet conditions

• Personal items, snacks, and cash in small bills for markets

Technical Information

Trip Difficulty: Moderate to advanced mountaineering experience recommended

Climbing Gear Required: Ice axe, crampons, climbing harness, helmets (can be rented locally)

Support: Guides, rope teams, and technical training included
